The Safety and Loss Prevention program provides guidance, training, and technical support to County departments on maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for employees as well as the visiting public. This division aims to promote and uphold a comprehensive educational program that raises awareness and fosters a commitment to employee safety and health at all levels of management and labor.
This program strives to develop and implement realistic policies and procedures to comply with occupational safety and health regulations. This program applies reasonable standards in the absence of regulations by addressing potential workplace hazards when mitigation is possible. The program achieves its goals by fostering working relationships with County departments, contractors, and regulatory agencies, and by promptly and prudently responding to all reports of alleged unsafe conditions.
